Boy Scout Troop 525
Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 525. Troop 525 began in 2002 and is sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church and Christian School. We are located at 4101 E. Nohl Ranch Road in Anaheim Hills, CA, about one-half mile east of the 55 Freeway on the corner of Nohl Ranch Road and Nohl Canyon Road.
Meeting Schedule
The Troop meets at Trinity Lutheran Church School on Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 pm year-round. Meeting locations at the church campus vary and include the classrooms, the sports court, or the sanctuary depending on the nature of the meeting and the time of year. Generally, the last troop meeting of the month is reserved for our Patrol Leaders Council meeting. This is a one-hour meeting where our Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders meet to plan the next month’s activities. The remainder of the troop has the night off.
The troop normally has a weekend camping trip monthly, except for July and December. In July, the troop goes to summer camp; there is no outing in December. Occasionally, the troop will participate in a second activity in a single month. These usually include service projects, such as participating in a workday at Trinity Lutheran Church, a BSA-sponsored activity, a fundraiser, or some other special event. A Court of Honor is held every three or four months.
What We Expect from the Scouts
At Troop 525 our scouts learn teamwork and leadership skills and advance in rank towards Eagle Scout. First Class Emphasis is promoted for new Scouts. We will make every effort to offer the activities necessary to achieve the rank of First Class on a yearly basis. In turn, we expect each scout to make every effort to reach First Class within his first 12 to 15 months as a member of Troop 525. As part of that process, every scout should attend summer camp if at all possible.
The scouts should bring their Boy Scout Handbooks to each meeting. It is their responsibility to read their handbooks and ensure that the Scoutmasters and the Senior Patrol Leader have signed off on their requirements as they complete them.
The Committee and adult leadership expect the scouts of Troop 525 to conduct themselves in accordance with the Scout Oath and Law, and to follow the policies described in the troop Conduct and Disciplinary Policy.
